FITA is pleased to announce that we have appointed a FITA Archery Development Officer in West Africa, with a possibility to extend to any African country upon request. Mr. Minassou Paul F?ix ZINSOU (Paul Zinsou) will start his duty on January 1, 2006. He will be based in Cotonou, Benin, where a ?Development Archery Center? will be set, including an administration area and an archery range. This is a second major step in as many weeks for FITA, after the announcement of the 1st International Training Center in Egypt last week. In West Africa, Paul Zinsou?s main mission will be to introduce the sport of archery in the countries from this geographical area, create new FITA Member Associations (several countries have a national Archery Federation that is not yet affiliated to FITA), and assist with the growth of the these new FITA Members. Paul will be able to visit the above countries and help them in their setup, organization, structure, operation, school introduction, and in the near future, in archery coaching education. Mr. Zinsou is a Physical Education Teacher, a Course Conductor of Physical Education Teachers and a Level 1 Archery Coach from FITA. He is Deputy Secretary General of the Benin National Olympic Committee, where one of his mission is to develop new sports. He is the Secretary General of the Benin Judo Federation, of which he is also organizer, black belt and judge. Paul is the founder and organizer of the Sport Revelations, a national event that features archery. He speaks French, English, a little of German and Japanese as well as two regional languages. FITA warmly welcomes him for this challenging mission!
